The fiber industry – pulp and paper sector has in the past experienced environmental factors because of the demanding processes that are used in developing products. But recent innovations hold bright prospects of enabling the world to build a stable future. By optimizing energy in pulping processes and by using green technology in paper making namely the paper industry is minimizing its impact in the environment. This special paper aims at discussing different facets as to how technology is being applied to change the landscape of the paper pulp industry in order to decrease carbon footprint in paper and pulp sector and to advance sustainable paper industry.
